Treatment Guidelines
Essential steps to protect your skin barrier, ensure optimal comfort, and maximize your results before and after your appointment.
Facial & Chemical Peel Pre-Care
- Pause Active Serums: Discontinue Retin-A, Retinols, Tretinoin, AHA/BHA acids, and prescription acne topicals 3–5 days prior to your appointment.
- Avoid Sun Exposure: Avoid direct sun, tanning beds, and active sunburns for 1 week before your visit.
- Cosmetic Injectables: Wait at least 14 days post-Botox or filler injections before getting a facial, dermaplaning, or peel.
- Waxing & Shaving: Avoid facial waxing, threading, or depilatories within 48 hours prior to prevent heightened sensitivity.
Aftercare & Barrier Preservation
- Avoid Heat & Workouts: Skip heavy workouts, hot saunas, steam rooms, and hot tubs for 24–48 hours post-treatment.
- Protect Your Skin: Apply broad-spectrum physical sunscreen (SPF 30+) daily and avoid direct sun exposure while skin is renewing.
- Shedding Care: If undergoing a peel or microchanneling, do NOT pick, scratch, or force shedding skin to prevent post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation.
- Pause Actives: Hold off on restarting retinoids and chemical exfoliants for 5–7 days after a peel or microneedling treatment.
